Mental Wellness

The Association of Psychological Science recently published a study of 500,000 teens correlating mental health and social media.  In 2016, the Journal of Pediatrics reported an increasing trend in major depressive episodes amongst adolescents.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 1 out of every 10 young people have created a suicide plan.

The state of mental health is declining and Colorado is behind the curve.  Mental Health America recently reported that Colorado ranks 43rd in the country in the adequacy of care.  We will combat these trends by partnering with schools to offer mental first aid for teachers and mental fitness programs for students.  It is our vision that mental health instruction becomes just as common as physical education.
